Ocean Pollution

“You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today” -Abraham Lincoln

100.7 Billion plastic beverage bottles were sold in just  the U.S. alone in 2014 (57 Billion of those were water bottles)!

The process of bottling water requires 6 times as much water per bottle as there is IN the bottle.

More than 50% of ocean garbage including plastic sinks.

Plastic waste breaks up into much smaller bits when eroded by sunlight, salt water, currents and waves.

Nurdles are the pre-production raw pellets formed when oil is turned into plastic.  Nurdles have been found on every beach studied by scientists, even the most remote islands.

Micro beads and nurdles are eaten by plankton, birds, fish and animals.

40% of birds are dying of starvation – and yet their stomachs are full (of plastic)!

Blue Whales ingest 75,000 liters of water every time it opens its mouth – plus plastic garbage
